Twenty11 welcomes Mims Davies MP and Wycombe MP Steve Baker

Twenty11 welcomed Mims Davies MP and Wycombe MP Steve Baker on Monday 16th October.

The visit was held to enable the ministers to find out more about Twenty11 and how we help our tenants improve their lives.

Mims Davies, who is Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Work and Pensions, was particularly interested to hear about the initiatives Twenty11 has in place to support tenants in improving their lives and financial circumstances.

They heard about how our Personal Success Plans work and how tenants can use the Aspiration Pot to help them achieve more in their lives by using the funding to support learning or improve their career options.

Twenty11 tenant Joselyn joined to share how her life has improved since she became a tenant.

She said:

“Being a tenant with Twenty11 has exceeded my expectations and I have gained a lot. I have received funding to complete a childcare course and hope this will help improve my circumstances. I am gaining a lot by being a tenant and it has made my life easier.”

Twenty11 Chief Executive Alan Keers, said:

“This was a really interesting visit for everyone as it has given us further ideas for us to explore to expand Twenty11 further. It also gave the ministers a look at how a different approach to housing can help improve lives and enable people to be more independent.”
