Guidance on volunteering and the Tenancy Sustainment Licence

Pattern circle

We think that everyone who volunteers in their community is a local hero, and to reward those of you who’ve put in the time and effort, we have three types of positive points on the Tenancy Sustainment Licence (TSL) which a Twenty11 tenant can collect.

  1. A Community Leadership Award, which will give the tenant +15 points, for volunteering for at least 50 hours over a nine-month period.
  2. For volunteering for at least nine hours over a nine-month period, the tenant can obtain +10 points.

A household can only get one of the above, not multiple awards, but if a tenant starts with +10 you can move to +15 if you meet the additional time requirement.

Evidence needed to be given a TSL Volunteering Award

To be given TSL points, we’ll need details of what you’ve been up to, so we’ll ask you things such as:

  • What the volunteering is
  • How many hours you’ve done and over what period of time
  • Details of who you’ve been volunteering for

We can provide a ‘log’ so that you can record your ongoing activities and update us when you’ve done sufficient hours.  Photos and social media posts are also a great way to share evidence of what you’ve been up to!

Some types of activity may not qualify for points, for example:

  • Helping a relative
  • If you’ve been paid to do the work
  • If the type of activity isn’t in line with our values
  • If we haven’t had clear evidence of your volunteering
