She's won the case

Lisa set up a Personal Success Plan (PSP) with one of our Community Potential Specialists, back in 2019. Her overall goal was to qualify as a family lawyer. In order to complete her law degree and qualify, Lisa needed a laptop to complete online modules, coursework and to study. She was finding it difficult sharing a device with her three young children with disabilities and felt she needed a device of her own in order to progress. Lisa worked with her Community Potential Specialist to ensure that she was following her PSP and maintaining regular contact to achieve her goal.

With the support of her Community Potential Specialist, Lisa applied to the Aspiration Pot for funding for a laptop to support her with her next steps. This funding was secured and granted by Twenty11. Having a device for her sole use has played a part in Lisa completing and passing her law degree. She has secured a job as a paralegal at a law firm and is now undertaking training to become a Police Station Representative. Her final step will be completing her SQE exams (which is to be funded by the law firm) where she will become a fully qualified solicitor upon completion.

The laptop did not just support her overall goal, it has supported Lisa’s family during the Covid-19 pandemic. Lisa was able to continue her studies whilst using the family laptop to home school her children throughout this stressful time and to keep them on the right path, just like herself. Lisa shared with the team:

“Thank you so much, the computer is amazing! It’s a lot easier with the children now and the laptop you gave me has a much bigger screen which really makes my uni work so much easier. Thank you, I am so grateful.”

Lisa has been achieving great things and is so close to completing her overall goal of becoming a fully qualified family lawyer. Well done Lisa – we’ve no doubt you’re destined for great things!
