Tools of the trade

Ryan had been unemployed for a year after falling on hard times and being made redundant. Ryan has always been hardworking, but with the cost of living crisis and financial difficulties he was finding it hard to find a suitable full-time job.

He worked with his Realising Potential Specialist on his goal to get back into meaningful employment (PSP goal). After a lot of determination, Ryan managed to secure a role as a general labourer for a local construction company, which started in the middle of winter. Due to Ryan’s financial difficulties, he was worried about working throughout the cold winter months because he didn’t have any appropriate workwear and some of the vital equipment he needed to carry out some of the work.

Ryan applied to the Aspiration Pot and we were able to fund him some workwear and equipment totalling £400 (including safety boots, work trousers and thick winter socks) to help him with carrying out his new job and having the tools of the trade.

Ryan has cemented his career within construction and is reaping the rewards with higher earning potential!
